It will fund anything that is not provided by statutory sources - so that could mean expenditure such as a washing machine, holiday expenses, clothing, computer hardware or specialised adapted equipment. Applications can be made on behalf of physically disabled person under the age of 18 and resident in Scotland. Applications need to be sponsored by "a social worker, health visitor or professional who is in regular contact with the family". http://www.ccfscotland.org/ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 3H FUND 3H Fund has a grant programme to assist disabled people (whether physically or mentally) their families and carers, on low income, to organise a modest holiday for themselves. Grants are given for the accommodation part of a holiday and the holiday must be taken in the UK. Grants can be made for a wide variety of needs to people of any age who are in financial need, hardship or distress. Applicants must normally be resident in the UK to be eligable for assistance. The Trust mainly gives grants to relieve physical and mental illness, advance education beyond secondary school and can provide loans to Freemasons in need. http://tinyurl.com/39jlfx7 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ THE BRITANNIA COMMUNITY FUND The Britannia Community fund offers a quick and simple application process to voluntary groups, charities and schools, working within education, specifically numeracy and/or financial literacy, who require donations of up to £1,000. This LEADER Programme seeks, through close and positive partnership working, to support the rural communities throughout the area to respond to some of the many development challenges that are still facing them. LEADER funding is open to community groups and Local Authorities. Groups seeking mainland Ayrshire LEADER funding of between £1,000 and £5,000 can now apply anytime, closing dates are not applicable. This will increase the number of business development proposals financed through the SRDP and strengthen the role of local decision-making in community development projects. Funding for community projects and development plans will now be considered under LEADER through Local Action Groups (LAGs). Some £13.3 million has been re-allocated to support this change. The autumn funding awards for Rural Priorities will focus on agri-environment and forestry projects, and the Scottish Government is considering introducing a continuous assessment process for smaller scale Rural Priorities projects. Awards for Business Development applications submitted after August 2, 2010 will be capped at £250,000 per project. Read on at http://www.scotland.gov.uk/News/Releases/2010/08/03124743 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ THE ENDRICK TRUST The Endrick Trust is a Scottish Charitable Trust (SC012043) established in 1984 for the purpose of distributing the Trust Funds, capital and revenue, in such proportions and at such time as the Trustees in their sole discretion shall deem expedient amongst such charitable institutions in the United Kingdom as the Trustees may select and/or any charitable cause which the Trustees shall deem particularly worthy of support. The Trust is administered by T C Young and organisations registered with The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) or with the Charity Commission may apply. The Trustees will consider applications from charities based and working in Scotland or based elsewhere in the United Kingdom with projects in Scotland or charities based elsewhere in the United Kingdom supporting projects outwith the UK. However, priority will tend to be given to projects in the West of Scotland. The Trust will support a range of charitable causes including the promotion of health and wellbeing, the support of resource of poor countries, the support of children / youths, conservation and the arts, and the relief of suffering. It raises money from individuals and organisations, which is then distributed through grants to charities and community groups working with and for women. Since its launch in 2002, the fund has awarded more than one million pounds in grants to 552 projects, supporting the development, self-sufficiency, and economic and social equality of Scotland’s women. Grants of up to £5,000 are available for a wide variety of costs and projects, including assistance with the costs of holding events to mark International Women’s Day in March each year. Within the Women''s Fund programme, there are two categories of grant: Express Grants, awards of £250 to £2,000 Main Grants, awards of £2,000 to £5,000 Further information and application forms are available from the website. Not-for-profit organisations (including registered charities, voluntary organisations, schools, local authorities, churches, social enterprises, community interest groups, universities etc) working with disadvantaged children and young people 18 years and under are eligible. The aim is to fund projects where a small amount can make a real contribution to success. The next deadline this year for applications is the 15th October For further information and an online application form, visit the website. http://tinyurl.com/l9svdn ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ HERITAGE LOTTERY FUND PARKS FOR PEOPLE The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has announced that the next closing date for applications to the Parks for People programme is the 31st August 2010. Launched originally as a joint initiative with the Big Lottery Fund full responsibility for the programme has now passed to the Heritage Lottery Fund Local Authorities as well as not for profit organisations that own public parks and gardens can apply for grants of between £250,000 and £5 million for the regeneration of parks and public gardens (including squares, walks and promenades). Applicants will need to raise at least 30 % of the project costs from their own sources and partnership funding, either as cash or non-cash contributions. The ‘Parks for People’ programme has a two-stage application process. If a Stage One Pass is awarded, applicants can submit a Stage 2 application. Recent awards include a £1.84 million grant to restore Castle Park in Fordsham, Cheshire back to its original historic landscape and to improve sports facilities, the play area, and cafe and kiosk facilities and a £3.5million grant to restore the historic landscaping and buildings, upgrading footpaths, entrances, furniture and signage of Brockwell Park which is located between Brixton, Norwood and Dulwich. http://tinyurl.com/3yjavxg ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ IDLEWILD TRUST The Idlewild Trust is a grant making trust that supports registered charities concerned with the advancement of education, the encouragement of the performing and fine arts and the preservation for the benefit of the public of lands, buildings and other objects of beauty or historic interest in the UK. The Trust awards around £120,000 each year in grants and considers making grants of up to £5,000. Applications are considered twice a year: Applications are made by submitting an application form by post. Unsuccessful applicants must wait a year before reapplying and successful applicants must wait two years. Priority is given to Scottish Charities. The Parish Development Fund Main Grant is intended to support organisations that try to benefit the lives of the local community with the help of local churches. The application process is ongoing and interested applicants may apply at any time. Eligible organisations must: - Be local churches, or organisations working with them. - Be based in Scotland. - Provide a benefit to the local community. Grants will not normally exceed half of the total costs of the work. Grants agreed will only be released once the matched funding from other sources has been raised. Local authorities and other organisations involved in urban regeneration activities in Scotland JESSICA (Joint European Support for Sustainable Investment in City Areas)is a form of European funding programme designed to renew and regenerate urban areas. JESSICA can be applied to projects in the 13 local authority areas currently eligible for ERDF support (Clackmannanshire, Dundee, East Ayrshire, Edinburgh, Fife, Glasgow, Inverclyde, North Ayrshire, North Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, South Lanarkshire, West Dunbartonshire, West Lothian). Up to £300 The Community Investment Fund aims to have a positive impact in local communities in which the Society operates; and to help causes that would otherwise fall outside the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation criteria. Support is targeted at local communities through a combination of financial giving, voluntary activities, linking with community groups and enterprises eg, schools, sports clubs and local authorities. Through the Culture Programme the European Commission provides financial support to enhance the cultural area shared by Europeans with a view to encouraging the emergence of European citizenship. Through this call the for proposal, the European Commission specifically wants to support; cultural project; Literary Translation Projects; Support for European cultural festivals; Support for Organisations Active at European Level in the Field of Culture; and Cooperation projects between organisations involved in cultural policy analysis. The Culture programme supports projects, organisations, promotional activities and research in all branches of culture, except the audiovisual branch for which there is a separate programme named MEDIA. The funding available is open to Cultural operators, including cultural enterprises as long as they are acting in a non-profit-making cultural capacity. For more information including information on the level of funding available and closing dates for applications, please click on the link below. http://tinyurl.com/37rob3v ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ FUNDING TO DEVELOP CANCER SELF HELP GROUPS Through the Helping You Help Others programme, Macmillan, the national charity supporting people living with cancer, is inviting new cancer self help and support groups across the UK to apply for grants of up to £500 to help with their initial development and promotion of service such as promotional costs; printing (leaflets, stationary, newsletters etc.); postage; venue hire; refreshments costs; and speaker fees; etc. Start-up grants for new groups are assessed on a monthly basis from January through to December. The final closing date for Start-up grant applications this year is 1 December 2010. They offer grants of between £5,000 and £25,000 to enable organisations achieve higher standards of performance and/or presentation. The trust will give priority to high quality projects, and projects that help people to better appreciate the possibilities the arts can offer, especially in Wales. Funding of between £500 and £10,000 (£2,000 if not a registered charity) will be available to small organisations and community groups operating in the areas of Poverty Prevention; Advancement of Health; Community Development; Public Sports; Human Rights; and Environmental Protection. Projects supported can last for up to 3 months. Previous projects supported include Fairbridge Scotland, which received a grant of £8,877 to run two courses to aid in citizenship skills and raising participants awareness of the conflicts and barriers that they may have with others in the wider community and Scottish Native Woods, an organisation that exists to rescue, restore and expand Scotland’s native woods- woodlands that are natural to Scottish landscape. The organisation received a grant of £9,958 to thin out trees, reinstate and repair paths and reinstall drainage systems. http://www.postcodetrust.org.uk/ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ FUNDING TO PROMOTE FINANCIAL INCLUSION The Friends Provident Foundation makes grants of up to £200,000 to not-for profit organisations for projects that address financial exclusion within disadvantaged communities. The funding is distributed through the Financial Inclusion Programme 2009-2012. The Foundation will consider applications for work that will make a strategic contribution to the overall outcome of financial inclusion in the UK. The Foundation will consider requests for capital or revenue funding, core funds or project costs. The Foundation is willing to consider applications from any type of legally independent organisation, but can only support work that is legally charitable. Actions previously supported through the Foundation include; making money management advice available to young people via mobile phones and interactive digital TV; a research project to look at the difficulties that people with a learning disability are having in gaining access to banking services. Projects can be funded for up to three years and can include activities such as workshops and seminars; arts projects for a variety of different audiences and age groups; teaching materials or techniques to encourage wider discussions; and projects that utilise the collections of the Wellcome Library and the Wellcome Collection at the Science Museum. Applications can be made by a wide variety of individuals, organisations and partnerships. It will provide support to musicians and practitioners who do not have access to other sources of funding to allow them to develop professionally and to organisations that wish to provide, organise or send staff onto training or continuing professional development opportunities which will lead to infrastructural development.
