Bike Club is an innovative new project to create new cycling clubs and activities for children and young people, funded by the ASDA Foundation. Bike Club is delivered in Scotland by a partnership of CTC (the national cyclists'' organisation), Youth Scotland and ContinYou. We are looking for Bike Club Development Officers to be responsible for delivering the project, working closely with existing networks of staff and volunteers in formal and nonformal learning settings. You will need to demonstrate a good knowledge of community based cycling or physical activity projects and programmes; work experience across a range of community and youth work settings; and a track record of developing training and learning programmes. The candidate will need to possess a sound knowledge of working with black and minority ethnic communities (BME) and an understanding of the barriers BME carers face in accessing services, as well as an understanding of blood borne viruses. The post holder will be required to support Carers in a variety of services such as information, translation, 1:1/group support and interpret/communicate with other users and staff as appropriate. The candidate must be able to communicate in Urdu, (both written and oral).
