The theme for the festival this year is Journeys. Help… Community groups and organisations can apply for small grants up from Scottish Refugee Council to help your event run smoothly. Process of application… An application form should be filled out and a budget attached if relevant. We would encourage people to submit applications as early as possible and preferably before Friday 19th March 2010 as they will be treated on a first come first serve basis. We may contact your organisation to discuss your application, so please provide contact details for an appropriate person. Payment of grants… If your application is successful, a written grant offer will be made and your organisation will be required to submit an invoice to Scottish Refugee Council. The invoice can take up to 10 days to process, and we will distribute the money by cheque. NB: Organisations applying must have a bank account. Conditions of grant… On acceptance of a grant from Scottish Refugee Council, we ask that your organisation will keep us informed about the event and any changes that happen during planning. We also ask that you help us evaluate the impact of Refugee Week Scotland by completing an event evaluation form and taking part in a short telephone interview with us. Any other documentation of the event is also useful (ie. photos) For more information, or to discuss grant application, please contact: Belinda McElhinney (Refugee Week Scotland Co-ordinator) Tel: 0141 223 7939 Email: belinda.mcelhinney@scottishrefugeecouncil.org.uk For more information about Refugee Week, please see: www.refugeeweek.org.uk The ‘Refugee Week Toolkit’ and ‘Ideas for events’ packs can be downloaded from this website from the ‘Downloadable Resources’ page. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ AWARDS FOR ALL SCOTLAND Awards for All Scotland gives grants of between £500 and £10,000 for people to take part in art, sport and community activities, and projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local community.
